Just got a mounty steering aftermarket steering wheel.. How do you wire up the horn seeing as it only has one wire where as the VW whhel has two?

My new steering wheel had that, it had a patch of scratched off paint on the boss so it was used as an earth. First time i fitted it the earth wasnt good enough so i turned the ignition and the horn wouldnt stop.

what leon said basically. you earth the horn push via the wheel boss

just dont wire it up and go to halfords and buy a hand held air horn like i did lol, still passed the MOT

Ha Ha!! Might try that!

Sorted it now.. Fastened an earth from the horn the the center of the boss!

I had this problem myself .. havnt sorted it out yet .. It has only ever worked once when i diddnt press it . and at the most embarrasing time ... When i was sat at the maccys drivethrough waiting for my food .. must say i vigerously checked my food as the people looked a wee bit annoyed .. it wasnt me honest my horn and steering wheel are tripping out ..

So you advise earthing the horn to the inside of the boss via scratching some paintwork .. will i need to weld a attachment to plug the plug onto ?

All I did was put the positive on the horn press to the wire on the boss, and the other connection on hornpress went to a bare wire under the big washer on the steering wheel hub bolt! No welding needed!
