Worth Cleaning the head ?

My car runns fine but i have never opened the top cover and had a look inside myself ..

I do want ot have a gander but is it worth it

Is it worth opening it u pulling it apart giving it a good old clean then putting it back together ..

Will this help performance ? Should i just leave it as it is ?

I'm nosey when it comes to things wnat ot see whats inside ..

If it runs fine I wouldn't bother. You may cause problems. Its not just a case of cleaning it either.. you'll need to lap the valves and get new gaskets etc etc.

On the other note my headgasket just went so I rebuilt the head, even tho the car was fine before. Just did it as I thought might as well since the head is off, 125k car, can't be lilke new inside.. Otherwise i would have left it.

if it works fine and its your only mode of transport i would leave it well alone. if your that interested in engines buy a spare engine rebuilt it, tune it up, then you will have a better engine to put into the your car and you will have learnt how it all works

I agree.. I'm looking at getting a used head and building it all up with new parts from scratch, after is being ported and polished too!
