front and rear brake upgrade for 6n 1.6 8v

Featured Replies

I just read the g60 front disc upgrade thread and it doesnt detail how the 16v and 8v hubs differ this is something i would like to find out

and also whats the best way to upgrade the rear drums to discs? only small discs but discs non the less, i plan on upgrading power large scale so i'll want heavy duty all round and also drums just look plain awful!

so basically : rear drums > rear discs

front tiny discs > g60 discs

its a 98 1.6 8v cl if it makes a blind bit of difference.

could somebody be so kind as to go through this step by step with me?

Pete

bump.

anybody know the answer?

Your wanting to do what i will be doing at the end of the year.

I have chosen to go with polo GTi rear discs.

from the mk5 gti the rear's isnt it? from the stub axel out. What else would you need? how would you set it up:S so its sort of a good balance?

ah ok richie, so basically easiest solution for rear breaks is find a wrecked mk5 gti and steal the whole rear axle. (guessing that the suspension of the 6n wont interfere)

and the fronts i've found off the FAQ pinch a few bits from a valver and some g60 parts.

cars lookin good richie, liking the porsche wheels.
