Houston,i have a document problem..

Featured Replies

Okay. So i fitted a 1600 at the beginning of the year and sent the logbook off with the new engine number. Thought nothing of it. Did i get it back? Cant remember, but I've only dealt with two other cars in the time since. But i cant find it. Nor can i find my counterpart licence. Now these must both be together somewhere, probably in the glovebox of a car i put through the auction..

I was gonna re-mot it,but i know i didnt. Now its tax time - how can i get it taxed in time?

The only way i can think of,is to get a duplicate of each over the phone and hope i get them in time. And what if the dvla didnt process the book? I cant get one with a changed engine number for at least a month. If it comes back as 1300cc,I'd have to fit a 1.3.

Is there an express way,or am i lucked out?

This is some predicament you've found yourself in my friend. Doubt there is much you can do other than wait for fresh copies of your documents or hope that you can find them somewhere. Could you not go to the auction place and ask if they retireved anything out of the car?

If i found someones documents,I'd send them to the document address for the sake of 50p. We're talking april/may,they're gone. I'll be turning my flat upside down and phoning swansea today. I know a trader but he'd still need the logbook to tax it. The mot is for a 1300 but I'm not bothered about that,i can mot it anytime. Book and counter are a real problem, though.
