I have a Pioneer 6700MP and just bought an IPOD I did the cheap thing n bought a fm transmitter, yet I find the sound rather cack to be fair.

I like using the buttons on the Ipod, and have seen this...

Is this going to give me the best sound quality or should I buy the pioneer ipod adapter?

I had a similar thing for my alpine and its was no where near the quality of a proper ipod link. Big let down of the proper ipod link is its slow but when you get used to it its amazing

Thanks Goose, thats what I want to do, have you used an fm transmitter? I find it quiet and the sound sounds flat.

No i haven't, always been intrigued and wanting to try one but I find cable is suited just for how I want it.

for the alpine heads, but i dont know if you can get em with the ip-bus end on for your head. That type will offer best sound quality as its taking a digital signal to the head instead of going digital-analouge-digital if you went through the headphone socket or something like that.

I got an aux input for my ipod, which plugged into the cd changer socket. It was cheap, the sound's good, and I can still control the 'pod from its own controls (it sits on a bracket on the dash).

If it were me i would do the 2nd most cheap and cheerful option like what 6NEWMAN ahs done. Buy an aux in cable if your headunit has a aux in or cd changer sockets in the back. The lead is just a red and a black plug that goes into a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It is really easy to route the wires into the glovebox below your steering wheel so your i pod can sit and be connected in there out of sight. Thats what i'd do..........
