Hi all,

Just hooked up my Pod to my system, to my shock it sounded bloody bright/very harsh. after an hour of tweaking I have got it to what I believe sounds good once again (untill I stick a cd in lol)

Am I the only person to discover this? I have a pioneer 6700mp with only one user custom eq and it's only 3 band.

Would I be better off with a new/better headunit? would I benifit from a higher band eq?

Got the same problem here mate. I've stopped downloading

from the net and just put original cd's on the i-pod now.Still seems

a bit bright up front sometimes so i just fiddle with the treble a bit

until i'm happy with the sound.

99% of mine are cd's mate, I had to adjust the trebble as well, really fooking stupid if you ask me but hey hoe :(

Never had this problem myself. Have you tried fiddling with the EQ on the ipod itself?

I'm connecting the same way but using a Pioneer. just a cable straight in mate. no magic box on the wire as such.

My ipod sounds crap in my car no matter what i do to the settings, or if it does sound ok i can only play at volume 7 which means i cant bloody hear it. so i have given up trying now and just play cd's but if anyone can figure out the secret please let me know.

I found they dont sound too bad when you use a aux to headphone input form the ipod/ mp3 player

i have one of them thingys that converts the ipod music into an FM radio signal, works a treat, only prolems is that with the ipod transmitting you have to have the radio louder than normal, and my /\ button is fucked.

I think it maybe my tweeters on the way out as I have turned em down via the crossover and it sounds better, plus setting up the eq again (ie tweaking it) has helped. But the tweeters sound like they are distorting slightly at high volumes but the mids are fine the tweeters are at least 3 years old but the mid's are only 1 years old as the both popped.

It sounds much better on the whole and is sounding on par as the cd player now as well

Its to do with the ipod, when i connect my ipod to my amp and decks it sounds crap and needs lots of adjusting, try connectiong another mp3 to your headunits and then see what it sound likes

Have you guys checked the EQ on the Ipod? And keep the volume half way. I've got mine on my Alpine 9855 with an Ipod adapter and it sounds fine.
