Thanks Christian.. It was a while in the making but got there in the end... Just a few finishing touches and major clean required... Thanks for the headlight help... Xenons really help in them as their LHD..

Theres a couple more pics of it just put up on the first page. Made it myself.. Cut up the original, mounted the gauge holder plate... Stretched a bed sheet over the lot and pulled it tight. Fibreglassed over it to form the curved shape and a skim of filler and a ridiculous amount of sanding required...

no worries mate! 8-)

looks sweet, i have never used fibreglass filler etc before, i am gonna go on a scrappy run and source a spare insert and have a bash, when you say stretched a ed over it what exactly do you mean, if you could pm me a bit of a step by step approach to it i'll definitely have a crack! :D

also what gauges are they?

Cheers

Ok but just so you know the insert is different in Polos with airbags than those without so it can be very hard to get a spare one... Ye ill send you on a step by step...

To be honest there the cheapest ass gauges i have ever seen but I think they look really nice.. I know thats sad and I should plumb them in to work but to be brutally honest I think its pointless... They were only 30euro... anout 20GBP for the three... and the mounting frame and hardware... Ha. They look the part I think...

ah lol ignore my last question in pm then!

Ignored lol

that looks bloomin nice!

"Its been a real budget car as I'm broke and in college....." i read that part and then didn't know what to think. Then i saw the pictures and the list of things that the car has had done!! Looks absolutely amazing matey!! Love to see what you could do if you had some money to spend!! Car made of solid gold maybe?? Very nice.

Thats proper swanky that,

love all the little interior touches.

Demolover - Ye I know what you mean but if you think about it I really aint spent that much.. Most of it was done myself like so I could save loads there. Expensive parts were - Exhaust... Spraying... Wheels... . The seats stand me fitted at about 300euro... About 200sterling. Ha I thought that was a bargain.

I should have kept all me recepits and stuff but just seem to be too busy. As soon as I buy my new car next year I will be keeping note of everything I every penny I spend on it.

Thanks for comments...

Oh and I just threw up some new exhaust pics on page one... Wanna keep all my pics together...

Edited by 1stcarsapolo

exhaust looks perfect to me if i was going aftermarket i'd have something very similar but with one tailpipe!

Yer I want one! lol,

I really like that, some tidy changes been done!

  • Author

Thanks all.. Ye I've seen one tailpipe done a couple of times so I thought I'd try 2... tdi stylee...

Have more pics up later

nice,but i dont get 210bhp its a 1L 55bhp more like or am i missing something

How much the full system from powerflow? cheers.

Asher - That was a joke you tit... Read the thread

TimW- you dont wanna know I really blew my budget but I was having all sorts of exhaust problems so I decided to just pay up and have it done properly once.. I had heard great stories about this powerflow dealers unlike some cowboys out there. The welds look really good..

It was 650euro.. Which at a rough estimate is about 430GBP... Steep I know.

Not so long ago I had a local tyre and exhaust centre fit a new centre box for me to pass my NCT (Irish MOT equivilent), The bloody thing was a joke. Fine for the first week and passed the NCT but blew like fuck from then on.. I had it back 5 timres to be fixed with varying success. They said theyd fix it no prob each time. In the end I had a different local garage make up a quick cat and midbox replacement pipe for 100euro..(60GBP approx) but when I started the car it sounded like a wasp. The standard backbox wasnt able to cope at all and was rattling like fuck. The day I collected the car from there I rang powerflow to have it re-done cos I just couldnt stick the noise. Ha. I've recntly went back to the first place and handed them back their botched centre box thats now covered in paste and weld and they gave me my money back appologising for making a mess of it.. so its not all bad. I am now trying to sell the decat and mid box replacment pipe too.. It was only on the car a week.. Itd be perffect for someone that has just a sport backbox and wants a loud POLO... Not me...

So thats my full exhuast story.. whata pain in the ass it was...

Your selling what? lol sorry, What the de-cat pipe and mid section? You got any likepics or tell me how it connects? welds? or slides on?,

  • Author

Sorry for confusion... Its a straight pipe custom bent that replaces the cat and mid box and welds into location.

Pic below..

So if anyone fancies it>> make an offer... Note: I'm in Ireland

photo0032bo7.jpg

interestingg.. Just would it fit onto the end of a 4branch..

  • Author

Ye I'm sure it would. Itd weld on to the downpipe somewhere I'm sure...

I really like it, but Mk4s are all starting to become so common looking exactly like that!

says you who wants a smoothed silver gti on BBS
