Hello,

I think there is a vibrating noise coming from my rear passenger wheel (noticed it this just morning). It occurs when turning sharply left (haven't tried right yet) while going at some pace. I had an ask around and there are two possibilities, wheel bearing or drive shaft could be worn.

I'll check the wheel bearing by jacking up the car and shaking the top and bottom of the tyre to see if there's any play. But is there anything else it could be? I'm pretty new to the motoring world and would like to try and fix it myself (esp if it's the wheel bearing!)

Is there anything else I should look out for or try?

Also, it could have been my imagination, but a few days ago, I'm sure I thought that when looking from the rear, one of the wheel didn't look very straight. Also that the car wasn't driving her usual self.... I thought I needed to get the tyres pumped up tho since it's been a while since I last topped them up.

Sounds like a wheel bearing, i had mine done a few weeks ago, it used to only make a noise when going motorway speeds.

How much did it cost you? Apparently it's not difficult to do... but have little experience myself. Could give it a try tho...

you dont necessarily have to replace. mine was the same as kerrly's. just took it out cleaned it regreased it and tightened it back up. no noise.

Good point, then I can find out what part number it is then if the problem persists and get it from the shop. That is... if it is the wheel bearing..........

I tried wobbling the tyre to see if was the wheel bearing, but there was no play... But it's just come to me. I got my catalytic converter changed on Sunday. Would they have to take my exhaust off? Maybe it's that which is catching...? I'm going to take it to the shop tomorrow morning and tell them that I think that it is catching.
