Tyre help.... 185-45-15

Featured Replies

Anyone know of any make that does these??

I can only find Nanknag that seem to do them. I want to see how they look on my wheels as they give the same overall dimensions as standard 13" tyres do, so hopefully will look spot on.

If not what do you think i should go for??

Wheels are 15xj6. and the car is lowered 40mm.

cheers

Iain.

olnly nangkang do them.

I've said it before but i'm a big fan of the 165/50/15 bridgestones if you don't fancy nankang's. Check my VAG OEM Sebrings thread in the pics section for how they look in 6j rims.

Just had a look and your right they do look well!

I was dubious thinking i'd loose grip coming down from a 195 to 165 but honestly its such a tiny loss its almost un-noticable and made up for by the fact I've regained speedo accuracy based on standard GT tyres.

I have just noticed however your drive a G so you may wanna seek out some g40 boys to see if anyone has ran these tyres as you'll be dealing with a fair bit more power, i think you should be ok tho unless your running stupid bhp.

I'm not running massive bhp, but tyres are cheap so i can get a set and if they are poo i will just change them :)

My Lupo is 100bhp and I run 165/50 Bridgestones no problem. Went from 185/55s to 165/50s and I really like Bridgestones. Sit nicely on the wheels, good grip and reasonably priced.

IIRC Andy runs 175/50/13 on his turbo slag which is pushing big power. So if your running not much power then 165/50/15 shouldn't be to bad.

Thats my theory anyway :D
