Does anyone out there in Pololand know if the gas struts on the coupe tailgate are the same on the Mk2 and the Mk 3?

The MK2F has two struts,whereas the MK2 has one. But the ones on the MK2F seem weaker - one alone is never strong enough to hold the tailgate.

My parcel shelf weighs 10kg and I'm still looking for a heavy duty item that'll fit - might need a welder for this.

and i have a set for a mk2 if interested give me a pm,
