I know I've asked on Uk-P's but just wanted more opinions. I'm wanting to mount my numberplate like so...

Some have suggested cable ties. The problem with them is I wouldn't want to drill holes in the plate and wouldn't want them to be seen. I could use cable tie holders at the back but I'm not sure the adhesive on the holders themselves would be strong enough.

Another suggestion was the Velcro brand heavy duty stick on coins. I don't see house this could work as there isn't a lot of surface area on the grille. Where it is exposed to rain, this will probably weaken it.

I'm currently using the Velcro heavy duty tape to hold my current numberplate on the bumper, and the side of the tape on the plate has started peeling away. The side that is stuck onto the bumper has held fine though. I'm not sure if this would hold onto the honeycomb grille though. I can always bend the plate slightly so it doesn't peel away from the tape, but it is the side stuck to the grille that would be the main worry. Any suggestions?

instead of using the velcro coins you can get a big roll of velcro get some of that works out alot cheaper to

cut off a massive bit lenght of your plate if needed and stick it on with that my plates are held on with this

agreeing with that but also maybe cable tie the velcro onto the honey comb grille in several places, like thread it through 2 holes in the velcro if you get me?

Velcro does get weak due to the rain. Another way I've seen it done is get that bottom grille out, Cable tie to the back of the plate using a small pad/disc with a loop in it...Ill ask the bloke down the road on Saturday once he's back from holiday.

So I'm guessing the bumper's on then?

Get the plate sunk into the grill permamently?

It's at my local bodyshop getting the washer jet holes cut out

Get a tube of Araldite and glue a few bolts onto the back

of your number plate.Feed the bolts through the grill and

secure the plate in place using washers and nylock nuts.

I can get hold of this heavy duty velcro typre stuff. Its called 3M Dual lock. It is like velcro but has plastic interlocking hooks. We use it at my work to mount sensors on the underside of cars. I recently sold some on here to a guy already for the same purpose. This is a pic of what it is basicly...

e38...lol ye the velcro works fine...just make sure the honeycomb is clean and dry first and use the velcro strip tape from ahlfords it comes in a green and yellow box

aye id do what buster said, coupled with some velcro, should keep her in place man

fuck it, dont run a plate man....think it looks gash on the grille :p

i dont run mine constantly but i find the car attracts too much damn attention anyway so i end up putting it on just in case!!
