the rear 8" would fit, OMG, i know i cant tell too much without a tyre on and the

fact the brand new rear suspension has yet to settle. But i think its going to be

very close to illegal TBH, i may have to roll my rear archs but we willsee when the

time comes.

what offsets are your rears?

I'm gonna think you may need some arch rolling to get those under there without some MAJOR scrubbing

my rear wellers 8j are -10 offset and yeh they scrape! but I've got chunky 175/50/13 all round.

yes there -10 rears, +3 fronts IIRC. tyres are special order. i thought i may have to roll rear arches, we will see.

People have squeezed 165/50s onto an 8J rim before. Could go for that, would be mint!

will the car be as chuckable with that isze tyre fitted

I wouldn't consider the car chuckable with 175s on an 8" or even a 7"... but there we go!

i have 175s on a 7 have a bit of stretch. I don't reckon I'd run 165s on a 7 let alone an 8. Just my 2p tho

i am considering getting the 7j wellers on my 87' breadvan would i be able to get these under the rear arches ? , how much would i be able to drop it? and do you need shims? my only worry is that the rear arches are squared off on the hatch and i may consider getting 6j raer and 7j fronts. what do you guys think?

I wouldnt go for 6 rear 7 front, if the coupes anything to go by the rear track is narrower so that would look odd,

6F 7R would be ok i think but then again i dont have a squareback.

As the boee size of the polo hub is 57.x mm and the bore on the weller is 65.x mm you have to rely on the studs to centre the

wheel, I'm just looking for something to fill the difference really, last thing i need is hubsentric spacers TBH.

When I first started running 165/50 on a 7" I didn't like it much, but now I don't mind. You can hammer the shit out of the car and the tyres aren't going anywhere (provided they are sealed correctly).

ah thats cool, I'm fitting a 165 50 on my 7 and 175 on my 8.

To be honest, even if you have to roll the arches it no big deal since the car is matte black. It'll be a piece of piss to touch up.

Is there anywhere i can get some spigot rings from so i can centre these wheels properly, or maybe a tiny spacer with a ford lip.

I also noticed i seem to have some degree of rear toe in (same both sides), maybe exaggerated by the wheels, is this correct..

You can get some spigot rings off ebay, or go to a local machine shop or something

I'm running 205/50's on my 8's and 9's wellers, both -10 offsett.

I have berg arches to try and cover them though, but the fronts still stick out a bit.

I went for bigger tyres as i will need the tyres to flex a tiny bit so they sometimes sap some power to give me grip!-which is my big issue!

I am going to cut all of my standard arches out, big step and ill blatently cry when doing it!haha
