I recieved some INXX bonnet lifters from Ebay today. Just tried to fit them and I can't get them to retract, even when I put all my weight on them the shafts just start to bend! The shaft needs to be pushed in an inch so it can fit on the ball. The shfts turn in the body, but the dam instrcutions are in German so I don't know if this is normal or not!

Any ideas?

Never fitted them to a mk3, But i found when i got mine there is no way of getting them to close up unless on the car.

opne bonnet and lift it as high as it will go

they should be able to click on then

^^^^^ sounds about right, and its best to put some wax or polish on them as the INXX bonnet lifters go rusty.

Thanks vdubgazza, opening the bonnet up higher than it sits on the stand worked.

no worries

make sure you put those little locking clips on

otherwise the clip off when you shoot the bonnet
