Hi, my 97 polo 1.4l® has on the screen service then says miles, when i start the car up it then says OIL or O1L?? i have checked the oil etc and this is fine?

i have tried the directions on the FAQ to reset this and couldnt do it??

Could it be linked to the service message and indicating a pre-designated oil change (based on mileage) ?

yer mine does that when i start it up n stuff. i dont know how to stop it lol. iv tried to get rid of it but still it remains!!

I've managed to do it now, just need to push the mile reset button, then put the keys in and do it so the air comes on and the lights onthe dash and keep holding it untill you get --- then keeping hold of the button turn engine off take keys out then let go and sorted, got rid of the oil message aswell
