headgasket went today when trying to start my car after drivin back from wrk in quite a spectacular way,so now it needs replacing was wandering how much garages usually charge to do it or what ill need to do it myself?any help wld b very appreciated

What were the symptoms of it going?

A garage may charge between £300-£600 depending on how you want the change undergone.

Cheaper if you go for the HG change and skim or more expensive if you ask for full de-coke, regrind ect ect.

I paid about £110 IIRC to do it myself, headgasket set, cam belt, intake and exhaust mani gaskets ect ect and fluids.
