I was down my local Clarkins and spotted some manifold spray paint. I was thinking I could spray paint my exhaust tip since its a tad rusty. Silly question as I know the manifold gets 10 x hotter than my exhaust whilst the engine is running but would it be safe to spray paint my exhaust tip?

Wrong section for this part I know but when I had an oil leak not too long ago there was a lot of dirt and grime left everywhere, carb cleaner doesn't agree with paint but does a wicked job of cleaning the engine body (on the outside of course lol). Is there a type of spray that will do the same job as my carb cleaner but agrees with my paint? (Just in case I accidentally spray on the paint inside my engine bay of course)

I've just poured driveway cleaner all over the turbo and its cleaned it VERY VERY well so maybe that too

Driveway cleaner is probably the best rust remover ever haha

And turbo? What cars this then, I thought you are mk4 was just the 1.9d?

it is lol but the mini is running a 1460 longman engine with t3 turbo and nitrous and it was all rusty an dgreased up and i tryed vinegar on the rust too and it worked great it removed it in 10 mins of scrubbing with a toothbrush
