I'm going to be smoothing and painting the bumpers on my mk3 and was wondering what is best to remove the contiminants like silicone from the surface before work commences??

You can get a proper solution that you use the prep anything before you paint it. I can't for the life of me remember what its called though!!

Get yourself some solvent 'Panel Wipe' from a paint and body shop suppliers. Should do the trick...

would have been so much funnier if you'd have said "that you use to wipe panels with before you paint it"
