I'm bored, was gona work on the new engine but really can't do anything til i acquire a pressure gauge. Instead i decided to have a go at my car bootlid with the G3 thats been sat in my room for months. I washed the whole car and rinsed it off first. I used a sprayer bottle to keep the area i was doing wet, and used a microfibre to rub the G3 onto the painted surface with parallel strokes. Once i was happy with a section, i soaked it more with the sprayer and wiped the area dry with a clean microfibre. I did this across the whole bootlid, with the sun on my back. Such a lovely day!

Once i had done the whole bootlid, i washed it again with car shampoo and dried it with a shammy. I'm waiting for the sun to disappear a bit so i can polish it up and see how well it comes out.

Is there anything i have done wrong, or should have done but didnt?

g3 is pointless without a proper buffer, and when it's finished you need to apply black top or simaler as it removes all the protection and the paint will fade quick.

you don't need water with it unless the compounding head needs to be damp but the genuine ferecla stuff doesn't need it.

So the polish wont be enough? What else can i use? Will it be ok if i leave it overnite, and do it tmrw? Or will it need covering?

Thats so true i always do it in a circular motion .. for one you can see were youhave been alreaddy and for two its alot easier to feel the paints texture .

And for three,you're covering the area more completely and evenly,with less chance of putting rub-marks in - because the stroke never stops,and its pressure consistent.

if you use G3 on a buffer without spraying the panel with water you can burn the paint. you should wet both the mop and the panel

^^^ Hence why i kept it all very wet. Looks bloody briliant too, just need a good sealant on there - not sure what to use. I'm thinking blacktop then wax?

Bolllocks wish id seen this. Just used farecla black top, finish doesnt seem as nice as it was pre-glaze!
