dunno if its the same place on the mk5 to mk 4 but ther basicaly the same mine goes through just next to the suspension strut on the right, thers a little rubber gromit that you can make the whole a little bigger, its bout half way down on the behind the brake lines.

that is if its the same.

argh, i cant see a thing!! there is way too many things in the way under the bonnet, lol il have to have a proper look 2morow with flash light.

thanks for the help

with my mk5 i put it through the door and under the door seal.

its way too difficult searching for the grommit.

its safe, easy to do and u can hardly see it from outside the car when the doors shut.

rite thanks guys, il have a go n let you know if i fail

:D

just put it on fuse box, thats what I've done,

 WTF !?!? with what rating of fuse and cabling ???

mind you, it's a great idea if you like fires i suppose ?

as long as it has a 12v feed, and is fused it will be fine, and cuts out when ignition is turnd off you will be fine! oh and i have had it on fuse box for 2 years no problems with any fuses blowing or fires :D

Whats kind of power is the amp though? how much current draw? 60-70+ your lucky you've not had a fire the fuse box isnt designed to take such a high amperage fuse or cabling.

And like foxie says, behind the glove box.

ok, on my mk 4, i found an easy way- there is a hole (and rubber seal) in the bulk head where the hose of the rear washer system goes, providing that you are not using mega guage wire, this will fit (its tight!) remove glovebox and the hole is behind some fire profing. The wire can then be run down pasenger side under trim.

Some might say that this is dangerous, having a 12v wire run next to a water pipe, but if you observe the direction of the water pipe- it runs down out from the tank, then up over the suspention stut bolt, then back down. which means any leak that may occure from the tank will not come in contact with the bulkhead. if this makes sence. try it and see. this is a very easy way. worked for me, and it keeps every thing on same side as battery!!!
