mine is sticky i tap it and it goes up but neways i do believe that it is fused into the whole clock dial fuse so check the fuel sender for any lose connections and give them a clean if corroded up than see what happens hope this helps

AH ok, really wish id bought a haynes wen i got the polo.

Any chance u could direct to were it is mate? is it under the rear wheel? like under the car, near the fuel tank? or is that just the fuel filter?

Cheers

take bottom back seat up should be a black cover with 3 screws undo this and u see another cap looking thing with some plugs check them to see if they have dirty connections as this is the pump etc and gauge you can undo this but do not (SMOKE) or ignite anything as it screws onto the tank hopefully this will help if still stuck pm and i go through my haynes manual

Cheers for your help mate. As funny as this is gona sound i was actually just out of fuel! Strange....as it read just under half a tank, and shes been sitting around for ages with me not driving it!...meh
