Right I'm looking at a nice new set of splitties for the G, Now I'm gonna stick with 14" as I'm running 256mm brakes and dont really want to go up to 15" due to clearance issues and not wanting to induce understeer.

Now what I'm trying to acheive is a better stance than i have with my 14x6 but without them sticking out a foot or upsetting handling !! Performance is parramount !

So what do you guys (and girls) Reakon ? I was thinking maybe a 14x7 or a 14x7.5 with standard offset ??

I am running a 7J rim all round on 15"

I find the handling isnt effected with the 15" rim ..

7J is even too wide for in the wet though i must say .. In the dry the handling is superb ..

I'm going to run 14x6J BBS RA's on the G40, should be sufficient. There isn't a great choice in 14" wheels I find. Compomotive would be a good place to start if you're looking for a performance orientated rim.

I have 14x6j at the mo and the handling is pritty sweet - They are very simular to the RA's (thought they were ra's) but i bought them in a rush whilst stoned, took em straight to be refurbed and it wasnt til i got them back i was looking at em for ages thinking somthing aint quite right here !! After comparing them to ra's they are slightly different - and a couple of years down the line one wheel is looking proper dodgy !! Hense i cant really be bothered to get em refurbed again, Just want some nice new shiney ones

The handling in the wet is already well ermm Exciting interesting and generally pritty scarry LOL so i tend not to go mad in the wet unless i have plenty of spare boxers with me and a huge tin of air freshener !

Just would quite like a little more of a stance really without effecting anything for the worse.

Oh and i run 195/45/14 and would like to stick with theese.

BBS RMs are done to death on most things but you don't see them much on a mk3. THey look so pimp on a mk3 as well.

7,5-14 front and 8-14 rear for the win......

What does that do for the handling having wider wheels on the back ?? Also that would mean i cant swap the wheels front to back to even tyre wear so not sure if i want to go down this route ?

Can you get the RM's in a 14" ?

I'm also looking to get some road legal slicks but it seems that the maximum width of the wheels can only be a 6.5j So it seems that this is gonna be a restricting factor anyhow

what road legal slicks are you looking at?? most will go upto a 10J width wheel!

Really want to stick with a 14" wheel and they either come in 185/55/14 or 185/60/14 - and are recomended for wheels up to 6.5j

I reakon my best bet is to go for the 6.5j and go for a slightly different offset so i get a nice little stance but retain the performance I'm after !

I can only find 185x60s - where have you found road legal 185x55s?

And 195s sound a bit wide,185x50 would be better for the next seven months in this country..

also try Avon Kumho and Matador competition tyres. majority of competition tyres arent low profile but they are out there.
