i had a little bump the other day in polo.... I've had everything that nedds doing done except I'm still waitin for my grill support thing to arrive so i cant fir grille in proprerly, well i could have a go at bodging it, but my MOT's this friday and i need to know if it deffinatly needs a grille to pass??

as long as there arnt any sharp exposed edges you should be fine, although from personal experience, the police may say its dangerous if you knock someone over.

I've havnt had a grill on my mk2 for 4 years now

In '93 i was a passenger in a mates 1984 Escort,and we got pulled over. The copper laughed at the front end and let him go with a producer.

We had a different government then,and things were different. The old bill didnt have much paperwork to do,so they were out on the streets in their thousands,speaking to pedestrians and handing out producers like leaflets.

The reason this is apt,is because his front end was crushed in. He had no bumper,grille,and the red bonnet (it was a blue car) was held down by bungee chords. The plate was on the dashboard,and quite invisible. But his lights worked,and that's all the copper wanted to know.

Things are a lot more strict these days though,and i wouldnt like to guarantee that it'll be okay without the fragile plastic styling-formality.
