Sorry for those who have read my other treads...I now have 3 threads on my headunit...being a girl I'm useless at all this electrical stuff! lol

I have connected my new Alpine headunit with the help of my bf and we checked it was working before placing it into the slot...when we put it back, we double checked to see if it was still working... and to our surprise it wasn't. So we took it out and checked all the connections but it still doesn't work...the fuse seems to be ok as well!

Any suggestions on how to fix it and y it's not working??

if there are other thing in the car that have stopped working check the fuses, the wires might have touched and sparked when you put it in and that might have blown the fuse?

have you tried with the engine running?

I would suggest pulling it back out, remove and reconnect the block, see if it works.

possible when you push it in, the connections in the block could shift and move off the pins!

i fit stereos in halfords and had the exact same thing happen i got the stereo half way into the cage and it just cut out!

checked all the fuses and they wer fine. was a very weird problem.

and i didnt get a chance to sort it! but if you do sort this i would like to know how so if i get the same problem again i cant sort it.

No we havn't done yet, cos it came on with the ignition like its supposed to, but we'll go try it now.

I havn't checked all the fuses, just the one on the head unit, and a couple in the fuse box - it doesnt tell you which one the stereo is for, so if anyone knows which one it is that would be great.

If its blown a fuse when pushing the unit in, make sure that this is now safe!
