Well here you go, i think i should of gone for 7s now.

I'm worried as no matter how much i roll the arches, they will rub like hell.

I noticed a while ago one side of the car is lower than the other but i cant see why or how.

One wheel sticks out further than the other and again i cant see why.

If I'm going to keep these ill have to cut the arches out and fit plastic ones i think.

What do you think.

thats how my bbs sit in my rear arches. they aint rolled. the magic word is coilovers!

Thats fine but why is one side lower, and stick out more than the other.

The higher side is the side that sticks out more.

haha i have coilovers and they still hit my back arches!

i do have 9's so its not unexpected!haha

but then again i do have berg arches to go on!

If you do cut the arches out and put plastic arches on make sure that you re weld the rear arches as the lining is metal and attached to the arch.

What size/offset/tyre size are they? Just out of interest?

they look like 13 x 7 et -10 at the front

13 x 8 et -10 at the back?

tyres hmm 195/45?

I've tried swapping the rear wheels over just to make sure there not different offsets. one side still sticks out more.

where did you get your arches from.

i have same problem on mine the passenger side is lower but thats the side they stick out more! same size wheels and tyres only a fraction but enough for me to notice. I'm looking at getting coilovers for the back but i dont know if i will stop the rubbing!

well the only way they wont rub is if you make it hard as hell.

Do you know why one side sticks out more than the other.

there stiff as fook atm but I've heard coilovers are a little stiffer (also adjustable)

not sure why one sticks out more that the other i noticed it on a few with wider

will do Kerm.. , i think theyve always been like that but having sticky out wheels makes you actually notice the difference.

if you look down on your wheels, do you notice some toe-in.

Tim, I've just paid £100 for those tyres, changing them is a no no, ill have to work round it. lol

The rear wheel geometry seems to go all funny on lowered mk3s...

And the reason the car is lower on one side, don't worry, most mk3s do it.

And again, the axle is sometimes not perfectly central.

I'm still confused why lowered mk3s go all funny with the camber though. It's a solid rear beam!

Suspension is not my strong point.

if it was the camber id be happy, its the toe. The most forward part of the wheel pointing in.

Camber is the top of the wheel pointing in or out.

I saw the toe in as well but thought nothing of it. Seen loads of mk3s like it

Depending on how fit the tool is that's rolling the arch,you should be able to get it a bit further out. But they're eight inch with crazy offset - surely noone said they'd clear?

I'm cutting my arches back and welding them back with extensions so i can fit my 7J's 15" deep inside the arch so i can drop it on its arse ...

Its sooo needed ...

my old caddy axle was about 2-3" further in one one side and about 1" lower on one side, now that is something to worry about. Its something to be expected of a roughly put together agricultural pickup but i am suprised taht the polo's are like this too. looks like vw should have spent a bit more time building thier mid 80's to mid 90's cars.
