do you mean the exhaust manifold breather?

do you mean the exhaust manifold breather?

I'm not entirly sure i think it is something to do with the cold satrt .. apparently u can take it off in the summer but it needs replacing in the winter if that helps ?

The hot air pipe. Mine isn't fitted and I never experienced any trouble during winter up here.

Its pretty pointless. You get no warm air from it for a couple of mins engine running,so its not for cold start - its to assist the choke on cold running.

Doesnt do a great job,but its blocked off once the engine's warm so if you're keeping your standard induction then there's no point removing it.

But the standard airbox pick-up pipe, which has the diversion flap in it for hot/cold pick-up,isnt great for flow - removing the whole arm and manifold pipe, and replacing it with a larger pipe straight to the grille is more beneficial.
