will it give the same power gains as the golf one? and does it have pins for an airbox or holes for an elbow attachment for induction kit?

Have a word with tobyk. I sold him one to fit to a 1.0. He'll know if it's worth it. Here's a thread about tuning the 1.0. I may have a plastic elbow for it, I'll have a look.

ok cheers mate, i have a passat elbow but cant get the pins out of my throttle body in the 1l to fit it properly so really want one so i can fit it proper.

Get a 1.8 Throttle body iff your not too botherd about consumption .. change ure injection over too...

Oh taking the seats out does wonders aswell .. and the spare tyre of course ...

I've a Passat elbow on my TB. Why can't you get the studs out? You just use 2 nuts. Wind them both onto the stud then use 2 spanners to tighten them into each other. Use the lower spanner to undo the studs whilst using the upper one to keep the nuts tight together. I can remove the ones in this TB for you.

did that but the stud snapped in half, yeah in that case could you take the studs out of the tb and ill take it for £20 posted.

Yeah I pulled the studs out mine and fired in some M6 bolts.

Definately a worthwhile mod. Play about with the timing a bit as well if you can't afford/get hold of a Poloace chip.

My car was pretty nippy with just the throttle body and timing done. I haven't really thrashed it since I did my head gasket

It will sit at a ton for ages, and the 2nd gear trick never fails to impress. 20 to 50 a LOT faster than a 1.2 16v Corsa.
