Hello peeps

If anybody can be bothered, could you look at this ebay list of items and point out which leds I can use in my mk3 dash console. Otherwise i'll have to take it out once to check the bulbs, then again when they arrive!!!!

the twist lock ones are the type you need. they are also known as 501t lamps. you would be better off buying from www.ultraleds.co.uk

by the way I've found it easier to replace the colour filter with a modified seat ibiza one (which is red) and saves the hassle of using leds which dont light up the dash half as well.

Oh, ok, thanks. Is that like, use a red diffuser and white leds? If I just use red leds is it really dim then?

i just used the std lamps, so the illumination is not comprimised. led's have a narrow light output angle, which is why they dont light up as well. you can buy frosted leds, but I've never tried them so cannot comment on their performance. i have used the std leds and found they suffered badly from hotspots (areas that are more lit than others) if you go for leds you will need to make a new diffuser anyway, for my led coversion i made one out of a lemonade bottle and sanded it to help defuse the light. heres a pic of my g40 clocks which had the red colour filter fitted instead of leds
