I saw some realy nice wheels for my car and i what them in 15*8 at front And 15*9 at back So just wondering do you think thay will fit on my mk2 and what do you think the handling will be like. . And i what to stretched my tyres over the wheel so i was thinking 195/45/15. What do you think. Thanks .

er...... i dont think so they are mega wide, and the back tyres will be well stretched, although that is possible to do.

U think it would look stupied with that size on the back or would it give it that jor droppin look lol. So what size should i get then. should i get 15*8 on the back then.

I think you should go for 9s on the front and 10s on the back. Should be able to stretch a 215/225 over the 10s.

Then buy some rivet-on arches for Land Rovers.

NOw That would look madd wide . But it can work.

go that wide and handling will be horrid. might look cool if you spend some money and do it properly though!

How low do u think i can lower my mk2. i need it low but high enuf to get over speed bumps. Was going to buy a 60mm suspension kit dus anyone no if that is low enuf. thanks

I've got 80/60 philJ kit on my mk2 and it scrapes a lil bit but is otherwise fine over speed bumps as long as you go slow. 60/60 would be spot on if you don't want to scrape.

60 should be fine for daily use

Might scrape over huge bumps, but nothing too bad.

60/60 SOUNDS good to me with 15*7.5 on front and 15*8 on back and 195/40/15 tyres stretched over them. Rite thanks everyone for the help thats me sorted for next month. :-D

I ran 80/70 with 175/50/13 tyres on my daily square and was fine. Underside of the car was battered, sump was destroyed along with many exhaust and the petrol tank, but was all good

Its a genuine check,because I've never done it and cant be sure - but i think he's gonna have serious problems if he tires to drive it like that.

I think a breadvan going low on 15x7.5 and 15x8 will need some serious arch work. Also as said the handling will be pretty horrible. Look different though if you pull it off. I always think that 14" or better still 13" look best on a low mk2.

This guy had some huge arches on his breadvan. Hope he don't mind me copying this thread. Might gie you some inspiration. I think some small deep wheels will look much better on a Mk2. Search around, photoshop, and ask before making a costly error by buying some wheels you grow to hate.

15" lowerd that far .. You have to be joking .. Rear end wouldnt bee too bad .. Front end you wouldnt be able to steer ! Like air ride styley ..

A lot of people on here run 7" on the front so i am sure they are fine. For the back go 8" or just 7" on the back with some spcers to give it a wider stance. If it is a Mk2 breadvan i would personally go for 13" or 14". Mk2 polos are small cars and so even 15" wheels look fairly big to me. Although sometimes they manage to pull it off. Think you would appreciate some 13 or 14 with a little bit of dish.

15" wheels would be different to most Mk2 polos on here but you don't want to have any running issues. Being creative and different is definately a good thing but you also need to be able to drive the car :-) Making your own wheels look different to others is a plus if done well.

Best thing to do before getting your wallet out is to do some serious homework. Don't want to make any financial errors :-) Good luck with the work!!

No worries matey.....A squareback on 14" will look sweet. Check out www.dubmeister.co.uk if you haven't already. Search for wheels under the 14" section. I like the "steffan" or the "kerscher" on there. There are so many wheel choices out there so keep your eye out. I got some wheels from german ebay. Nothing special and they need a refurb but i haven't seen any cars with them on yet :-) Plus they were cheap! :-)

What car have you got then? Take it is a Mk2 breadvan/squareback? 1.3 or 1 litre? Love those cars. Had my eye out for one when i bought my Mk2 but the coupe turned up and i couldn't say no!! What colour is the car?? Get some pics up if you haven't already!! 14" with nice tyres and a decent drop will look sweet in my opinion...

Yer i have a mk2 breadvan its my first car in facted. i had a choice to ether get a vauxhall corsa c or a mk2 polo. and i got the mk2 polo its a great car.

its a 1liter for now till i can found a 1.4liter golf mk3 engine. its like a faded red colour at the mo :sad: but its gettin a respray next month but dont no what colour thou I'm findin it hard to choose between gunmetal silver or silver.

yer i have my eye on a set of steffan wheels only thing is that the smallist witf it comes in is 8inc did what the borbet bs but they were the 15inc. Gunner drop it 60/60 one the 14ins should be ok and plus I'm stretching the rear arc.
