Your feedback of Polo Show 2007

Featured Replies

So we can make the show even better next year (I know, its hard to imagine) we obviously need your feedback.

What did you think was good / bad about the show this year?

Had a few people say the gazebo was a good idea but there was nothing to draw people into it, especially during the day when it was so nice and warm outside!

I'm sure beers/ciders for the first lot of people went down well, obviously we can only afford so much so its first come first serve!

Any other feedback on what you liked/disliked is always appreciated! Please try and keep it sensible :D

I think the gazebo would have been invaluable if it had been raining! Possibly might have been more of a draw if it were more central and you could roll the sides up if its warm and sunny?

The other thing I wanted to mention for next year was autojumble - there seemed to be more people wanting to sell stuff this year, so might it be possible for them to have a designated area next year, so its all together? I thought it might be easier for those selling and those browsing.

Just my thoughts. E.

it wasnt clearly signposted we nearly ended up with the ffoc! lol maybe a bbq could be put on for all u hungry men out there. i had an awesome day tho!

Behaps we could of had a bouncy castle too... ffoc did!!! :D

the layout was a bit of a mess, the only bit that looked organised was the show and shine and if your car wasnt in that it was a case of dump it on the nearest bit of empty grass.other than that i was very impressed

gotta agree with both.

saw the ffoc signs on the drive in but just one clubpolo sign on gate.. (found it ok tho but for ems sake mayb more signs..lol :p )

bbq wouldb really nice as was starvin when i got there (sunday only) but a burger van at the ffoc helped me out with that one!!!

part from that well done.. nice relaxing day n even fell well with the weather. ;)

david.

Stop me drinking too much booze please. I felt like shit all day sunday.

I thought it was a really great show :)

Couple of ideas:

- Perhaps doing a template for a Car Information sheet. So people could print out the spec and history of the car and what modifications have been done etc and also put the owners name and user name. I know a few people had done this but often I saw a car and I wanted to ask a couple of questions regarding it but had no idea who owned it. For example it would have been good to see a car in the flesh that was lowered 40mm with 14 inch wheels just so I could see how it looked a info sheet would have helped here. This sheet could be downloaded from here or be given to people on the day for people to fill out.

- Parking the cars in Mk order. I think this would be good a display purpose but I know that people like to camp with their car's (and in some cases in their car's) next to people with different Mk's of car. So not sure it this would work but it would look good.

- I like the idea of an autojumble area. I think this would be really good. I'm not sure if people would be willing to man it all day so how about a Large pin board so people could print out things that they had for sale on the day with a contact number. That way they don't have to hang around to sell their stuff. This could be in the gazebo :)

- Food. A BBQ would be nice. but again some one would have to man it. How about open it a set times. i.e 9-10 for breakfast (Bacon/Sausage/egg sandwiches), 12-1 for lunch (burgers and hot dogs etc) and then 5.30-6.30 for dinner (more burgers etc) again round the gazebo food times can be added to the flyer and a megaphone can be used to let people know that food will be ready soon to get queuing/waking up

I think that's all I can think of.. :)

Was good area, just not enough stands/trade stands? I saw Polo PP, would be good to see the other companys on here with a stand there.

We need more trade stands and a club stand selling merchandise, Stickers, hoodies etc. Other than that, I can't really think of much.

FFOC kicked our arses as far as organisation went, and I thought ours was good!

Oh and what BabyM said, needs to be signposted like FFOC's, Fuck knows how we managed to find it in the dark on friday!

i thought it was well organised.

The only thing i would suggest would be a tannoy system so narrow lanes can have a rest next year!

And to everyone who keeps moaning that the ffoc had more shizzle than us lot, if you look on their site its £20 a year for them to be a member rather than our £5.

Well done i say to all the top peeps that make this happen.

Overall, I think it went really well,

A bbq is a good idea though for the day-trippers and those who couldn't be arsed with thier own, i'd happily volenteer for a couple hours bbq duty.

The marqee was a top idea, just a shame not everyone made use of it, how about a dj next year??? um fook that, stripper

nether the less whatever happens I'm sure next year will be even better.

i can personally vouch for phils bbq and firemaking skills, this dude has asbestos hands!

The lack of signs was a definite issue, but we were nearing the limits of what we could fit into the field anyway, so we may need to overflow day parking into the adjacent field.

There was a club barbecue for people to use and the areas either side of the marquee were for traders and autojumble, but neither were signposted so they barely got used.

Anyone who has been the last couple of years will see just how much it's grown!! We just need to try our best to keep up. This is all good feedback for next year though...

i followed someone else i got us lost on the way anyway lol..

Over all depsite my suggestions thoroughly enjoyed the show was a great day and well done to the organisers... lots of nice people and made lots of new friends :-D

Look forward to camping next year!

I think we need some more of those lights you brought Steve and put them around the field, well handy for people arriving late and putting tents up in the dark and also makes it easier to find people!

I think it was a brillient weekend, But I think what Panda said about a ClubPolo stand being there selling the merchendise that it sells on here would of been really good....and like someone else mentioned parking them in mk order would of been fab too...

But apart from that thanks for the amazing weekend guys! Lookin forward to next year

i agree with what g40jon said, need a better layout i think somehow. obviously show n shine in the middle but camping bit more organise round the edge?

apart from that really well organised

To be fair it was looking pretty organised until Sunday when it just went ballistic!! The show this year was about half as big again as last year, so I think the number of cars took us all by surprise.

I think next year we'll put some of the day parking in the next field, as people have to walk through the gate to get to the toilets anyway, so it would just become another part of the show.

Or we could just get a bigger field?

Nah, its good where it is at the mo, day parking on the next field sounds good though, overall good show I thought, the only downside I think was nothing in the gazebo (autojumble/trade stands in there next year?)

quality weekend again.

shout out to all the mods/organisers!!

gazebo was a bit of a flop......probs cos of the weather/lack of entertainment.

got soooo many memories from the weekend.....

- cup a sausage

- the 'tornado' :paranoid:

- mine n chrispys fire wood hunting adventures

- del and his many many voices :lol::lol: quality guy!!!

- all the scotish lads for a top convoy once again

so many more but cba listing them all

taylor

ps. for next year....

- get some more company stalls etc......had a wander over to FFOC and they had loads of stalls.

- some entertainment in the marque

I had a brilliant time on Saturday night, really wish I hadn't got as wrecked as I did but that just seems to be part of a Sally show

Shame I couldn't make the Friday night, was gutted about that, but it was all worth it.

Signs would be a good thing, and some way of encouraging everyone to get together into the marquee to socialise together (geoffrey disco's and beer can towers included ).

Anyway, big shout to all the guys & gals that helped to organise this show, will defo be going next year (for the full weekend this time), nice work guys and gals :-D

Make name badges Compulsory, although after a few i was wandering around just introducing myself in a drunken manner to everybody, so apologies for that

i like the idea of a spec sheet for the cars as well, and definitely some entertainment in the tent, although i do appreciate the fact its a camp site so are limited with noise etc

Jowe

For my first show i thought it was good,

again lack of signs as i followed someone in a mk7 and we both got lost! other than that i thought it was good!

definatly next year! if its not so close to where i live i might even camp!

Thoroughly enjoyed it (my first show). I reckon it will be necessary to go up on the Friday next year and do 2 nights though.

Would like to see something to draw everyone together, bonfire type thing or communal bbq or a band or something. Not so sure on the proliferation of dodgy drum and bass but the atmosphere was excellent and it was great to get to meet so many of you lot.

Narrowlanes tannoy facilities were excellent, camper/skateboard surfing was inspired, some of the barbecue/inferno combos were interesting.

All in all, top notch, and I am very glad I had Monday off work. Here's looking forward to next year!!!
