just recently bought some clear side indicators for my polo mk4, and havnt got a clue how to take the old amber ones off.a few people have said they just slide off others say i have to reach behind the wheel and it takes ages.

if any one can help i would be greatful cheers

I had to replace one on my sisters car and just carefully prising it with a screw driver worked. I covered the screwdriver in masking tape so it didn't damage the paint.

I think James managed to do his without doing that and they just slid off. Not sure though,.

I got mine off by just sliding them, and they just click out of place.

Yea, if you can get a hold on it it should just pull out, if you cant then use a flathead screwriver or a knife of something, just watch your paintwork!

Take the side nearest the wheel out first and slide it out.

If you push them towards the rear of the car while using something to prise it out they come off real easy.

You can get them out without having to prise them out. But, I just ended up getting way pissed off and just using a screw driver. If you cover it in masking tape shouldn't scratch the paintwork.
