Hi All,

my sub and amp has been working fine over the last 12months untill i was on my way home from work, the components worked fine but the sub didnt, looking through the forum i checked all the internal wireing and all the solderings and there all fine i dont have a clue whats wrong can i have some help!

the sub is less then 2years old.

might have blown the speaker, blown the amp, knocked the internal amp wiring around, thats what happened in my mk3

i already have my amp?

passive means that there is already an amp on it (i think)

vibe subs are good

guessing by that then i can just take me old amp out and plug it all in then! sounds good!

I had a CBR10, awesome little thing. (active)

the SLRs are passive (need an amp)

coil may of gone push the cone in and see if it works ifso sub is screwed

try a different sub to the amp

or if the oils are gone you will have to recone the subwoofer

i tried some 6x9's that i had at the back of my garage and through the amp and these worked fine,

i did take all the sub out of the box and all the wires were still attached,

try moving the sub in and out by your hand (pushing it in) does it make a scraping noise ??

no it just sounds....like nothing

hmm sounds like you could have a faulty tinsel lead (the silver braided wire that goes from the terminal of the speaker to the voice coil) usually if the sub was actually blown it would be quite hard to push inwards and make a scratching noise.

what sub is it ? you may be better off buying a replacement than trying to fix this one.

do you have access to multimeter and know how to use it (to test the coil)?

i dont have a multimeeter, its a ripspeed one, it only cost me£100 including amp so i think its time to get a new one!
