hello all. just fitted the 80mm PhilJ suspension kit. I've set the rears to the lowest setting which should be 80mm and also fitted lowering top mounts to the front. the problem i have is the the front sits about 15-20mm higher than the rears. now they have only just been fitted so can i expect the fronts to settle much more than this or does it sound like there's a problem?

any help would be much appreciated as the only option i can see at the moment is raising the rears a notch but dont really wanna do that as having it this low was the whole idea of ordering the 80mm kit

Normally the PhilJ kits are higher at the front than they are at the back. The only real way you can level it out is by adjusting the rear so its higher.

Sounds like you have a problem... Mine sit fine!!! Although mine is for a MK5

all fitted in correct order in the right way. ill give it a week or so to settle and see how it looks then. other than that going to have to raise the rear slightly. bugger

the phil j kits come at a level height i believe, and the rears have adjustable settings so you will just need to raise the backs up to get the stance you are after.

whan i dropped the car off the jack the arches sat hard on the tires, only around the front third of each rear arch if that makes sense. a little gentle persuation with a rubber mallet on the lip inside the arch and its fine. onlt slightly rubs over the biggest of bumps

tires are 185/50R14's

If you look at a stock mk3, the front is a bit higher than the rears. On my coupe S, I've got the 80mm with top caps, and have the rears on one from top setting. To get any lower at the front you'll need coilovers due to the angle of the steering arms, have a look at them now and see how close they are to the inner wings!

Drive shafts were pretty close on mine as well!
