i wonder if anyone can help me I'm having difficalty lowering the front of my breadvan mk2 i've got the spring of but how do yo take the damper out of the strut

please help

The damper retaining cap clearly has a big allen-key fitting in the top,where the damper piston sticks through. There is tool a bit like a ring spanner made from pressed steel,that inserts into this,enabling you to undo it.

But you could just do what everyone else does,and wrap a huge set of stilsons/pipe grips around it and twist it off that way.

I used a pipe wrench and lots of Halford Penetrating Oil, came off a treat!
