right after blowing my 15" phase linear sub after 3 minutes with the amp i bought from foxie. i'm looking for a new sub.

from what i can remember i think the amp is

it's a Vibe Class D mono amp

700w RMS at 4ohms

1200w RMS at 2ohms

1500w RMS at 1ohm

only want the sub on its own, preferrably 12" and 2ohms. My budget is around £100-£150 no more

i know its 15" but i saw this (trying to keep the brand the same)

i would look second hand aswell, if u want big bass, my mate sellin a kicker l7 and directed amp in a custom box for 3300 quid. 140db of b line

alpine one looks alright

does mounting the cone upside down affect it, ie the with the face of the cone facing inside the box?

i would imagine it would change the sound quality, what box you got, you knw I'm sellin a 12 inch sub box at the moment.

most people mount subs that way for show purposes.

is there any reason for wanting to run it at 2 ohms?

is the amp a monoblock IV?

if you put the sub upside down you will get a nigligable ammount of noise from the motor.... thats all, doesnt affect SQ

Vibe use old components havnt changed a great deal in a few years try get something more up to date. Vibe gear wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Kickers are loud and punchy..No deep B-lines just hard hitting bass...gets annoying. Id say to you look second hand for an X-type Alpine. Really nice sounding wired in at 2ohm.

I second that... if u can handle the bass lol.... the kicker L7s do drop low but u need a fairly large enclosure and preferably ported... they go LOUD but sound quality kinda shitty... they can however give decent sq but you'd have to research that one and play with different box designs .. I've heard 2 12's play good SQ with V good SPL but the owner of the car wouldnt let me see his enclosure or give me any info on it! lol.... if u really want a vibe sub get a vibe space... 2nd hand on talkaudio.co.uk for jus under a 100 quid... and on a budget brand new i dont think you can go wrong with the pioneer http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/6667.html
