If you have a haynes and photograph the brakes as you dismantle them then i'd reccomend it. It ain't hard - it was one of the first jobs I ever did* :-D

EDIT: *Which would suggest that even a monkey with no arms could manage it!!

easy to do, you dont need to remove the brake shoes themselves to fit a cylinder, just the drum

be careful not to round out the 5mm allen bolts, they tend to be rusty

Very true - if the drum is stuck on the shoes you have to stick a screwdriver through one of the boltholes and flick a little wedge thing near the top-right (IIRC). That makes the shoes drop away from the drum.

ah ha, it does indeed, you need to put the screwdriver through with a bolt hole at about the 10 o clock position

A spanner that is designed for using on brake pipes (well, most forms of flare-end nuts) so that it doesn't round off the nut. The opening in the spanner is just enough to get the pipe through, and it grips on as much of the nut as possible.

got the parts sitting next to me :) aswell as a manual. had a quick read of it. but I'm going to wait for my sisters boyfriend so i dont mess anything up.
