iv purchased a lovely 54k seat ibiza cupra R 1.8t engine, box, loom, clocks, keys, ecu, subframe, drive shafts. well basicly the whole front end and anything else needed

its going into my very loved p20hot and i know everyone hates my polo but i hold my middle finger up proudly!

my aim to this discussion is to over the months build up a guild to installing the engine into the 6n polo so that anyone who want to take on the task has a idea on what to do and what to get parts wise and cost

i know there are people who have done these conversions and everyones is different in parts used, so who ever has done this conversion can add to this would be well appreciated

lol well the guy wasnt happy, bought it off of ebay lol, there new listing procedure to stop key word spaming used to piss me off but now I'm glad cos the guy listed the engine off wrong to everyone elses and no one would of found it so cheers to ebay

id have the engine.everything else would have to go i think

The car is horrible and tacky imo but a 1.8T is a 1.8T and you can't argue with that!!

Was that not the earlier 51/52 plate cupraR, the only difference between those cupra and the cupraR power was the software, still had the k03 turbo!

Correct they both had the K03 turbo. The Cupra has 156bhp, whereas the Cupra R has 180bhp. It was just an upgraded ECU.

There's no point putting the engine in your Polo dude. Just buy a 1.8T, it'll save you alot of hassle!

well iv bought it and the polo's gonna get striped of everything engine bay, interior, boot install and is going in first for a full respray in Porsche raspberry red metallic " almost pink but red-er" then I'm starting from scratch, full spak's off and coil overs on, new tires "falcons", graphics back on, new upto date pioneer range plus amps and subs, leather retrim and new front seats "maybe cobras or recaros" maybe a roll cage but dought full

dont liek the car mate ssory and the engine transplant sounds good good luck with it

Good job on finding that engine...and hope the conversion goes well....but

...as Kam said...it looks tacky at the moment...i would completely change the exterior as it screams out 'barry boy' and looks hideous...nothing works with it at all...but that's just my opinion....looking forward to seeing the Porsche colur...as i like pink'esque' colours!!!

arwh well I'm gonna start fishing for part numbers and types from the phirm soon i know the gear box is off a mk4 gti either the polo or golf? there is a left engine mount that looks like a standard vw part so will print a pic off soon and go hunting in my local vw only breakers, the gearbox mount under the gox looks like the standard type and as soon as this bad boy lump is in i'll be wiring her up

if theres anyone on here that has a fully on the road running polo 6n 1.8t id pay them to have a look one weekend so i could get some ideas on what parts to buy for the conversion

very intrested to see how this goes.. (big bucks for a garage to do) know theres afew 1.8t around. goodluck n keep us updated.
