Rear brake drum cylinders

Featured Replies

Just tried to order my brakes (rear cylinder is leaking slighlty and front discs are warped) and they've asked me what type of cylinder it is i need... anyone know??? He asked if it has a power regulator/compensator.... anyone??

It's a mk3 1.05l coupe.

Also anyone know if it's 180 or 200mm drums?

thanks in advance for helping this mechanical moron out :)

You don't need the wheel cylinders for the compensator.

Apparently there are different rear drum cylinders whether i have a power regulator or not... I dont have a clue if my car has one or not..

When i ordered mine i had a choice of 2. It was the cheaper ones, not for the pressure regulator. Since discovered the g40 is the only one with the pressure regulator

there are 2 cylinders standard and G40 ones. there a mm and a bit bigger lol so just fit them there cheep and slightly more pressure can be applied, not that you will notice when driving it.

You need the ones for 180mm drums without a pressure regulator, only GTs and G40s have the regulators. All mk3 polos have 180mm drums on the back.
