Any good? I'm looking for a set of 195/45s in 14", some places say they cant get them, others do. Also some places seem to be ridiculously expensive at about £120 each! Whilst others say about £50-60 each...

I'm yet to find any tires particularly good in the wet other than specific wet tires.

id say yokos are a damn good compromise.

the new paradas are awesom tho

Funny that, of the other two people i know (one of whome is a very experienced track driver/instructor), they both say that the A539s are very decent in the wet compared to rivals...

I never rag it in teh wet anyway...

Yeah, you just have to get the heat into them. Having said that, I'm using expensive Bridgestone Potenzas on my Saab, and they're brilliant in the wet - but not as good in the dry as the A539s on the Polo. I'm unlikely to ever put Yokos on the Saab, nor Bridgestones on the Polo.

Best bit of advice I can give about tyres is to speak to people who drive similar cars, in a similar manner to you and use them for the same things. Even then you might not find a tyre that you like 'til you've used a few brands!

Not available in 175/60 R13 nor 175/50 R13 according to Bridgestone when I tried to track down a set. They're quite an old design now, only tyres I could find were blantantly old stock - and sod buying old rubber! Am using Potenza RE050a on the Saab, rate them.
