Bouncy Butt

Featured Replies

Evening

I have a 60/40 philj kit, plus lowering caps at the front. The backs are set at their highest setting so as not to achieve an arse down stance (and i've gotta lug loadsa of stuff around atm)

There's bugger all 'play' in the fronts, very hard. The back is a different story though, give a push down on the boot and it proper bounces! When I'm driving and have a friend following me they always comment(laugh) how the back just bounces up and down and up and down.

Now obviously the fact there at the highest setting is partly to blame, but is it anything to do with having a bit more weight on the back?

Any other loon owners with philj kits like to add their input? or are all the kits like this?

Drove 260 miles to uni with the boot and back seats full of stuff, banging the bump stops all the way

Sounds like it doesnt have any damping!

Do you have the large (50mm diameter) washer underneath the bottom rubber bush?

The old one may have cornflake'd and seized to the damper and you might not have realised it's important when you took it off.

Pretty sure the washer is there, i'll check in the morn

I'm a loon owner with a phil j 60/40 and my backs are on one of the middle settings and seems to be fine, could you please show me some pics as I'm thinking of getting lowering top caps and would like to check the drop

cheers lee

Yeah mine is bouncy too! Is yours bouncy since you put it on? Mine is on the same setting it was when i got it, think thats 2 or 3 down from the top. Its only gone really bouncy after a couple of thousand miles...i suspect premature failure.

There's not much i can do about it yet as i dont have any money.

Mine isn't bouncy at all... Jackson kit on middle setting.

I've got the 80/60 kit and it's stiff as owt on the rear.

^^ 2nd'd, I've seen the philj kits on charlies loon, phils coupe s and sals mk2 and they are all stiff as fuck, next to not play when you bounce on a corner

the coupe s and loon both have 80m kits if that's any use.

Rear coilovers ftw! I want some.
