Comments:I have now had this car for 4 years and worked hard on getting her how she looks now. Future plans are to strip the paint off, take windows out, grind out all the rust and weld in new metal, fabricate new boot floor with fuel tank and relocate petrol cap behind the rear number plate with the filler neck going down through the boot into the tank. Then of course re-spray her properly, including taking the engine out to finally do the engine bay, and then maybe a bigger engine ;) (thinks thats all for now)

Here she is at the polo show

Paint looks soooo good, rach is the 'shiny sparkly fairy' to my anti-chrome babycham pirate'. :)

That's looking nice. I'm liking the Metallic Flake :)

very interested

You can get the trims from VAG parts I think. I heard that they were from a T25 Transporter or something, then you just trim them down to fit.

That looks great!! You should drop the front an extra 20mm tho, back looks spot on but!! Not a necessity tho, the car looks great as it is!!

Thanks, and there are plans to go lower front and rear, may loose my exhaust though :o

i think thats possibly the first car on p slots that i quite like

  • Author

Why thankyou. The p-slots weren't my original choice but when this set came along i couldn't resist. Still don't regret putting them on 8-)

I been doing some photography recently, well playing with my new camera, and just though i'd post up some winter pics that i took a couple of weeks ago,

Looks awesome the P slots really suit, and the paint is wicked

Liking the interior touches as well

Thanks. Got big plans for the interior, think the next thing coming is a full re-trim, it's going to be costly with what i've got in mind  but will look brill when it's done

Tried my first show and shine the other week at spring fest, didn't win but i don't mind, i'll try again at inters.

Here's a couple of pics before it rained and all my hard work was ruined :x

Didn't exactly take many, the sun had gone in by the time i finished cleaning

Looking good! 8-)Just noticed you have the same problem as me - looks a bit too low at the back/too high at the front. What suspension have you got? I guess them subs will weigh it down quite a bit. :)

looks sweet dude - was the little spoiler standard or opt extra

Looking really nice Rach. Didn't realise you'd had her so long . Look forward to seeing her progress. Any old pictures pre respray? I like reading through build threads.

Yeah they do weigh alot! So that's partly the reason. I have standard shocks with 40mm springs, think i need to go 60mm at the front to even it out. Or when i restore her, if she survives, might do some coilovers, I know it's alot of hard work but may as well because it will be worth it in the end :-D

That spoiler isn't even a vw part. Found it in the scrap yard on an old BMW years ago. It fit so i put it on

It's not a brill pic, because i took it on my old phone. So gutted i didn't take pics of her on a proper camera because this is about the only pic i have of her standard

So here's how she looked on my 17th birthday, and the reason she's called Goldie....

In fact these pics are a very good example of how mine used to look, an almost perfect before and after (bar the formel e boot spoiler and the wheels)
