depends if its an "active" sub or not, if its not active then fine no probs and you can amp it if you wish etc if it needs mains then might be easyer just to bypass n use a car amp to power it

If it's active (amped) and you don't want to break any seals to get at the speakers and bypass all the nice Sony amplification...

Maplin are doing a 300Watts 240Volts AC (mains) from 12volts DC powersupply for car use for about 30 quid.

I assume the sub has it's own internal mains to DC transformer and capacitors to smooth any mains borne noise.

it also the ohms on the stereo car stereo is a 4 ohms home stereo is 8 ohms

but genereally yeah, BUT if it is an active sub that won't be an issue!

Watch your alternator, i managed to blow mine twice when running the same sort of system in my car!

u could always leave your living room in your living room and buy a cheap sub???? :p

Just a thought thats all lol, not swimming in notes at the moment and thought well i dont realy use the system in my house no more so maybe i could throw the sub in the boot for a while untill i get a lil bit of spare cash
