got some enzo cups(?) 15" on my car, and want to lower it abit, lookin around 40mm because the roads are shit round here, got a speed bump right out my front door and also the rims being 15's.

would i be ok to just go for the 40mm springs with everything else being standard?

yhh that will be alright cos i have got 40mm springs on standard shocks sittin on 15" and i havn't had a problem yet but lower it anymore with standard shocks and it will ruin the shocks

A few pointers......

- just putting on springs will mean shocks and springs aren't matched so ride quality may be compromised a wee bit, body roll will be lessened as the sprngs will be stiffer. Shocks will now operate as normal but lower down the shaft so potential to bottom out under really heavy compression, but a good quality set of springs; Bilstien, Eibach, H&R etc so see you right

- Sus Kits are matched shocks and springs and so will meet the 'lowering' needs as well as keeping a quality ride - best option IMO unless you want adjustability...

- Coilovers - the best way to go for all out control and adjustability, but if you can't be arsed setting them up and adjusting them as and when the situation dictates, then there's no real benefit over a Kit.

PS - I'm wanting to lower the new wee Polo I bought the Mrs (SE so comes with Comfort suspension, ie skyscaper), but most likley to go with just springs as she'll not be hooing anywhere and so its purely to get a 30-40mm drop on the car (almost going against my own advice which is to go with a Kit)
