loss of brake pressure

Featured Replies

i seem to be losing pressure in my brakes. I'm driving along, i brake but my foot goes all the way to the floor with nothing happening, then i bring my foot up, brake again, and its fine. its been doing this on and off for a few weeks now. basically i have to press the pedal to the floor, release it, then brake again to make my brakes work! anyone else experienced this? any suggestions??

first step is bleed your brakes.if that don't work you have a knackered seal somewhere, check for fluid leaks.

As above.

It's air in the system, or a leak. Check your brake fluid, top up if needed, and bleed them. If it's still doing it then it's likely to be a shagged master cylinder.

More than likely the cylinder in one or both of the drums has shagged, try bleeding first, then take the drums off and inspect the cylinders.
