Just got a set of these to fit my MK3 and they are proving to be a bit of a biatch to fit.

I've fitted loads of these over the years to Golfs but these wont let the door handle go far enough back into the aperture to line up with the small hole inside the door to srew back into place.

Anyone else had this problem?

I think the way around this is to file the hole to one side and allow me to line up the holes, is this the way to go guys?

They are genuine and i need them to cover up some previous scrotes handy work, if you know what i mean?

i had the same problem file the hole a little and when you put the handle back in start this screw first before the other screw angle the handle into the door , i also had to bend the lock levers outwards a little because as i pulled the door handle trigger the lock button moved, i had second hand ones so no instructions but i removed the plastic gasket from around the handle and used it below the plate to fill the gap hope this helps

problem is the armour door plates are made for golf

and polo owners just have to struggle

Got mine off a car in the scrappy for nowt!

They come in black but you can take the paint off and have a polished metal look if youre into bling.

Whatever you do, dont pay the £45-50 people ask for them.

C&R in Nottingham now do em for £25, but you can still pick em up for pence in a scrappy.
