every time i switch on the ignition and start the engine the horn goes off and stays on

i have had to take the fuse out for the moment

any ideas how to stop it ?

sounds like a short over the ignition live and horn live.

my old gt used to do this on cold mornings. never found out why. just ended up pulling the centre bit of the steering wheel out!

Sounds to me more like the switch is stuck on. The horn button usually switches the ground side of the horn, not the live side. Turning on the ignition makes the horn live so the horn button must be stuck on (or an equivalent wiring short) to complete the circuit.

That's my 2p anyway - check the switch with a multimeter if you can!

ah didnt realise the horn switch was on the negative side, yeah your probably right them mate :)

it might be the relay broken

If it's in your 1.6, they're, some say, prone to disaster.... you may aswell sell it for somthing old school according to anyone who knows anything
