Fully converted to GTI spec Polo

Featured Replies

Righto, decided this is 100% up for sale.....fancy something different now so she needs to go!

I'll give a rough spec of it, but it was originally a 1.4 8v match model before i got exeptionally bored with that and decided to go for a conversion instead of purchasing a GTI due to the money and work i had done. The Car is sitting at about 65k with the engine and gearbox on about 49k and it is one of the sweetest GTI engines i have felt.....extremely smooth running! The engine conversion was carried out by my dad and myself because lets face it.....a professonal isn't really needed for that type of conversion. The conversion wasnt just engine based with me also upgrading to GTI brakes with brand new mintex extreme pads and zimmerman discs with goodridge braided brake hoses all round. GTI ARB's were put on so it pretty much is a GTI!

Engine wise it will have:

Powerflow catback exhuast

Powerflow decat

BMC Carbon Induction kit

B&M Shortshifter

Not 100% sure, but we are thinking it to be round about the 135bhp mark, since it is pretty much keeping up with my mates G40 :D And quite convincingly put a standard GTI to shame.

Interior wise, not overly alot to be honest:

Audi TT leather front seats

GTI leather front door cards

Mountney sports steering wheel

Mk3 Golf GTI interior black mirror

Dark rear tints, medium front tints

JBL 6x9's in parcel shelf

Panasonic cd player(does the job)

The interior is all 100% mint with barely a mark throughout!

Bodywork and chassis etc:

Smoothed front bumper

Smooth rear bumper

Smoothed sidestrips

Smoothed boot

Subtle spoiler

Stubby euro spec mirror

Satin black sprayed mirrors

Satin black sprayed b-pillers

GTI grille

GTI splitter

Black front grille badge

Hella black rear lights

Black side repeaters

In-pro black headlights(never seen another set on a polo)

8000k HID conversion

7.5x15"(front) & 8x15"(rear) BBS RM's in awesome condition with anthracite centres and polished dishes. One front wheel has suffered slight curbing, about an inch long, but is not bad at all and barely noticeable

Brand new Toyo proxes(front) Almost brand new Hankook Ventus(rear)

Unbranded coilover setup at front with adjustable at back.....give great ride and have not seized on me once!!

Bad points.....as with any car, there is always some badpoints:

There are a couple bodywork snags which are barely noticeable to be honest!

The boot has started to flake some paint at the bottom edge, but is not noticed unless it is opened and pointed out. I am a perfectionist so this type of thing does my head in!

Another thing is when i was washing the car, i had the wipers up and i opened the bonnet which scraped on the wiper arms leaving 2 scores on the inner edge of the bonnet.....once again not notiecable unless your looking at it from some dodgy angle lol. More seriously though, driving back from the polo show a lorry kicked up a golf ball sized stone which bounced off the bonnet! So the bonnet does need a little repairing done!

Rear bumper.....i had a bit of an accident so the filler etc cracked on my rear bumper, i got it fixed but it wasnt the greatest job in the world so in some lights and angles(looking EXTREMELY closely) you can see the filler lines a little.

Also a small chip in the front windscreen, but is on the passenger side and does not affect the driver and also more importantly, the mot!

Now i am bein very honest here and picky, but liek i said it is because i am a perfectionist and this is little points i wanted to have sorted! But overall the bodywork is really nice and if a couple of little bits like that dont bother you, then the car is nothing short of perfect in my eyes. I have spent a hell of a lot of money on this car and will be extremely sad to see her go.

Anyways here are some pics for you guys to let you know what its all about!

The money shot :D

The car is quite well known in the polo scene and recently recieved 4th place in the Polo Show & Shine out of 55 other polos, so something is obviously going right with her :)

The car will be fully valeted prior to sale

Based in Aberdeen and looking for £5000

Thanks for looking, and also may consider a p/x....the car is also off the road now and not being driven!

Not overly sure buddy.....Not fussed if i stay VAG or not, cos its like in a year or 2's time I'm going to start a wee project with something a bit older.

I'm thinking along the lines of.....2003 style Astra GSI, Seat Ibiza Cupra, but in all honesty not too sure, i am open to p/x's cos something mibght grab my fancy :D

up we go :D

Bit of a heads up dude, when i first read the title i thought it was a conversion for sale :ninja: IE engine, box, loom, etc etc

Other people might also think that and not bother looking in the thread thinking its just a conversion for sale :-(

Might be worth editing that its a converted to gti spec polo in a sub title ;)

Good luck with the sale :-D

Its a sweet car, prob my fav mk5 on here

Free bump

yeh good shout buddy! Will change that!

Shame to see the lack of interest to be fair.....really dont think its over priced at all, alot have turned and said to me its actually underpriced!

I'v had one offer as a px but never interested me.

Absolutely love that photo! Gives are an evil wee look! :D

Gonna stick this on pistonheads and autotrader. Can appeciate the fact the car might be rather far away for the folks on here.

All the best with the sale Phil, definitely one of the best looking Mk5's around. Shame to see it being sold!

Thanks guys.....well fingers corssed it goes to a loving home who continues ther work on her!

I hope distance isn't putting people off. It's not that big a drive up to Aberdeen. We've also got a train station and airport. I think when Steven sold his Polo to polo.6n.max he popped on the plane and met Steven at the airport to collect the car.

What a stunning polo! If i wasnt so far in with the mk 4 id have this all day long!

My favourite polo :)

If only i wasnt 17, insurance would kill me :(

Anyway amazing car and best of luck with the sale!

Really appreciate it lads! It is a great opportunity for someone out there.....and 5k isnt a lot of money considering the money spent on her.

Yeh tav, hopefully it isnt that, you get sheap flights for pennies nowadays....so we'll see.

Yeh dave insurance could become a bit of a factor for a GTI at 17 :(

Well thanks again folks, fingers crossed. Being ever more tempted by a rado actually.....so keep an eye out, might be staying in the dub scene :D

BUUUUUMP!!!!

Please dont make me put this on ebay and sell to someone who wont look after her :(

i would love to be the lucky one who can afford this car is sweet as fwk!

good luck mate

Up she goes!
