BLACK AND YELLOW SPEED BUMP HATE THREAD

Featured Replies

We've got similar ones around Cannock, on the Halfords / Maccies car park, they're like a row of house bricks painted black and yellow, and they put 3 in a row! try going over one in an old mini on 10's! that's not fun..

DO NOT, and might i repeat DO NOT VISIT SWINDON, Most usefull carparks have these bee bumps in them somewhere, and then on the main roads is the ones designed for buses, ambulances and firetrucks to straddle. and tabletop bumps are making a comeback now too, i have to tack across some bumps so that i've always got one wheel on to raise the car over them, Pain in ass is understatement of the year

yeh them bumps are a bitch, took a trip to pc world the other day to get a wireless router an what do u know there was two in a row i thought fuck it and drove up the kerb on one side an over he bump with the other wheel few people tried to have words but i just turned up my music. :-D. only problem was getting out, there was a pillar on the pavement, so i had to ask my dad to get out and walk madness. he wasnt best pleased but oh well its him or the G

i'd rather break my car

i'd rather break my car

"Air ride is for gays" is your feeling at that one then!

I'm thinking about it!

get hydraulics, air's put you to sleep waiting  !

As you asked in a previous thread; Rayvern Hydraulics the best in the business.

Nothing better than a 1-button push slam to the floor decking. My cuz's car does this also preventing theft!

Car actually sits on the ground, not on the rims causing them to get stuck inside the arch. No fuckers gonna take your rims or jack your car up or even lift it using a flat bed.

Anyway, I live just outside the inner city in London. Every road has them small bumps aboout every 50 yards and table bumps at every small junction. There's no chance of ever speeding for me, a normal journey of 5mins takes atleast 10. Stradling every bump hearing grinding and causing a massive tailback along my wake.

But will I raise my polo which sits 100mm; HELL NO so :finger: the government

Yep I've been stuck on one of these in my old 6N i cracked my sideskirts! fuckin hate speed humps! :x

Ste

Yea I have given Rayvern an email, would have called them but I'm at work!

Mr chillies drop shop quoted anything from £1600

my usuals are the petrol tank, front bumper, skirts or simply just getting the car beeched. Not funny when its happened on them small ones yours wheels go either side of and the bump goes in between. Whats worse I abuse the car more cos I even drive with 5 burly passangers.

i hate anything designed to slow cars down!!! We luckily don't have much speed calming syndrome round here and if we do, too many lorries have used the road already, making the bumps smoother!!

Don't get beached on much really, just exiting scrapyards!!!!!

i cant beleive what it change my post too :(:(:(

you could always just type cúnt ? lol

Kingston uni front car park bump? Man that is a mofo!

I had to drive over 20 speed bumps a day when I was working over the summer :( I managed to get it down to 13 by taking the 'scenic route', but the last three were the little killer ones like that, no way of avoiding them

Luckily I never landed on my sills, but I think I shaved a good amount off my mudflaps...up, over *sccccrunch*.

Obviosly someone got few up though - they removed a coouple of sections so that the bigger cars could put a wheel in each and not have to go over the bump - pity the arosa was too narrow for that

They are definately c*nts - my standard height Jag actually caught one of the rear suspension arms on one of them from the place I got it from!

Anyone who's ever been to the VUE cinema by Braunstone in Leicester will know about the speed humps there - they're huge! We went there years ago in an old mk1 fiesta, and everyone except the driver had to get out before we got to the first speed hump.

You think counting speed bumps along your journey means there's alot? Think i'm the unluckest man alive. Put it this way; my street is about 850yards long. There's 6 rows of speed bumps and 1 table where another road meets. Now imagine that many speed bumps on every road within a 3mile radius

My old 8v was only lowered 40mm but at uni I started mounting the low pavement at one end to drive into the carpark between 2 hedges that had just enough room to get through. That resulted in a formal complaint andhaving my parking permit taken away  Glad I still don't go uni with my current car!

bit of info, at uni i saw them fitting them and they bolted in, so go with a ratcher take out a few sections, cos they buit in sections and your through. lol :D

I dont get how you can drive up the kurb, mine scrapes just going over the little dipped bits that you have to drive over to get into drives :S

no chance. ohh what about multi story car parks... scrape the bumper getting onto it and scrape away the floorpan at the top :/

nice work

that was my old polo sitting only 40mm so I managed; just!

This ones 100mm so I usually don't go to multi-story car parks unless I know then. Usually end up parking some street outside and have to walk :?

Fortunately, they have removed one of them because of the building works so that the poor old buses don't have to tangle with them But when there weretwo the bus lane was open to all traffic 7pm-7am.

they had one of them fuckers at asda near us, i used to get a noise on a brand new untouched fiesta it was huge

we complained and i think so have shitloads of others cos its gone now :D
