hehe Yeah I have c car now, so they dont bother me either. Lets just say his Aston was wisked away within 30 mins of it happening. It was also covered with a sheet so no one saw it was his car! bwhahahahahahaha. Everybody Knew within ten mins. You know how word of mouth is!

haven't they decided to remove all the new speed bumps theyve just installed? something about ken livingston not being happy with them or some shit like that....

would love to lower my car, but i have absolutely no respect for speed bumps which would lead to many replacement back boxes and things like that...

When the first Audi TT's got wrecked they were wrapped up almost before they had finished rolling to a stop because Audi didn't want the world to know they're selling a duffer. Probably a similar train of thought for your bosses Posh Jag, more to be inconspicuous on the back of the truck than to hide from your work i would imagine.

To be honest it sounds like you needed more of a run up

I dunno about that, you never saw any of James Bonds astons being rushed to be covered up after he wrecked them lol

 Yeah I understand that, however our MD ordered one of the appi's to go to the company stores for some opaque polyurethane to cover the car. So It wasn't the recovery crew that covered the car it was him!:lol:

I have nothing against enjoying a car, and my hat goes off to guys who can afford those lovely machines. However, there is a time and a place. Works carpark will never be that place no matter what time!

I hate these bastards aswel now! Got stuck on one at uni today. The ones at uni are a lot steeper and shorter than the one in the picture on the first page though it seems. And there is no use in getting right to one side as the edges have some protector plate on which makes them a couple of inches higher than the centre!

I got my car to one side, climbed over so slowly that my car bounced back and didn't even get over. So tried again with a bit more speed and bang, underside of car drops and hits the bump just as the front wheel clears the bump. So I think to myself, that's the painful part done, so now lets just drive over with the rear wheels...NO LUCK, the car won't move I am stuck, so had to reverse and just be a man and take the pain at a bit more speed.

Then to top it all off, I had one more to tackle before the exit, but luckily that one didn't give me any problems.

Then, the dude in the avensis behind me gets out and was like, "mate, you need to raise your car" and I was like, errrrrrm no chance.

To top it all off the exit goes into a mini valley, down and then straight back up, meaning my splitter was shagging the ground and everyone turned round because it sounded like a crash haha.

That's my rant over until it happens again tomorow when I go to park up again!

me and a mate from school unbolted about 7-8 of them at the entrance to our local supermarket so we could get his car in there at lunchtimes.. they were REALLY old so came out fairly easily, took few attempts tho. was a funny day

hmmm thats giving me naughty thoughts of attacking the ones at work with my socket set....

lol you wanna ninja it down to kingston one night chris?

I'm going to have to avoid these things now with the new car :-(

There is one at the entrance to works carpark :? i dont want to embarrass myself getting grounded of ripping my bumper off..

Dont know wether to try it or not when the car is on the road .. Think il come at night :ninja: lol .. test it out before i embarras myself .

worst ones I've come across are in bow near my ex's place standard mk2 atch used to bottom out unless you drove over them at a 45 degree angle

They've just installed 2 at my local Leisure Centre, which are fookin massive, and as my 'loon is lowered 80mm, it grounds out a generous proportion of my undercarriage. Left a complaint regarding the matter, and they quoted that they are built to specification and istalled by a specialist company, (because some blind old codger drove into a barrier), therefore I should be able to drive over them. They also stop me driving over in my Corrado, due to splitter issues. I'm thinking as I've lodged a complaint, just drive over them, damage the cars and send them an invoice for the damage caused. Either that or do an early morning raid with my toolbox and remove the buggers for myself.

probably! they bolt into the floor.. might take a breaker bar to them one night :ninja:

i did exactly that. theres some in my local somerfeild ( where we all go get our lunch and junk food)

so a few weeks ago me and my mate noticed that some of the bolts were lose so in the middel of the dayjust ripped some out. its now got a gap big enought for a car ...Result

i've got a breaker bar :ninja:

17" socket i think

What's the best technique to getting over these? Getting the car to one side? Or snaking over them one wheel at a time?

What's the best technique to getting over these?

I find driving a transit works quite well. 8-)

Hate these things!!! my local maccies has 2 of them and at first i drove straight onto them and got a bang, so now i drive at a very slight angle and it takes away the sudden bump a little bit....

near me i also scrape over every single speed bump, luckily for me it scrapes my mudflaps and nothing else, I'm so worry about getting grounded though, would be very embarassing!

although my car doesnt look drastically low, there are parts undeneath that a re lower, i found this out when i was reversin up a kerb at work(due to limited parking spaces) and got a sudden crunch, not good

mmmmmmm 13's and speeedys are good fun :/

Tell me about it, especially when no-rice is on :p

Martin.

Cant get over these bloody things already had the exhaust off once, it's the carparks that you can get in drive around fine then get to the exit and bam there is shit loads of em an you cant go side ways as there is a curb so your stuck holding every fucker else help going as slow as you can embarrasing :crybaby: lol

So they can be taken up relitively easily then thats interesting :ninja:

Have these at work to inforce a 5mph speed limit at first they stuck some massive fucking bumps in

Then everyone complained and they said they were fine ha ha exhaust caame off all the time so transport epople came out to have a look and said there too big so removed them and now they have just replaced them

No one has every been injured or anything on the driveway up to work its stupid

I mean fuck me I don't even have 5mph on my fucking speedo aaarrrrgggghhh

I don't think people realise how slow 5mph is or even 10mph more chance of killing a worm than anything else

that happened to me when the polo was lowered 40/40, in a parks car park

i couldnt get over any of the bumps so i just drove on the grass, then the ranger came and told me off but i told her there was no way i was damaging my car for shitty grass

now my car is lowered aout 95mm on the front it scrapes on everything :ninja:

95MM!!! fook me thats low(can go lower though??)....

mines back enuff with speed bumps, its the sqaure ones that do me most damage as gotta get one wheel up them, and as the front wheels go down they scrape, then the back ones go up and scrape going down!!!!

i HATE speed bumps with a passion
