Wiring a sub and amp to standard mk5 stereo?

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Alpine amp and JL sub and was just wondering can i wire these into the standard mk5 stereo (cassette with 6cd changer in the slot underneath.)

Helps appreciated, and if its possible how do i do it, ICE is my weak point with cars and i have no idea to be honest.

Also i have a Alpine cd stereo but id rather have the standard stereo with the changer.

i think it is poss mate u can get a lead that will plug in amp with wires on other end and i think u connect it to the normal speakers

Can't be done without bodging it.

You need a phono to speaker cable. And somehow bodge the remote lead to the head unit.

You won't get all the controls of the amp and it will be shit to be honest.

yes it can be done easily!

autoleads used to make an adapter that fits onto your ISO connector on the back of your headunit, and it has two phono cables and a remote wire, not sure what the model number is though.

that will work, but be warned they can sometimes be noisy and make the sub pop when turning on and off. if your lucky the std headunit might have a line out, a fair amount of modern cars now do.
