I'm wanting to upgrade my shit gt brakes to g40 spec

Do they have to come of a g40? as iirc mk2 golf gti's ran the same calipers and disc set up front and would probably be easier to source

Or isn't it as simple as that?

Mk1 Golf GTi's have the correct VWII Calipers...if they say VWII on the side you've got the right ones. There is a list of cars they came on, perhaps someone will post it.

I understand I would need 239mm vented discs+pads

But if I ,say got the correct set of calipers from either one of those models above would it just be a case of bolting them on,

or would I need/have to fabricate other parts to make them fit to my polo
